Operating systems

Hi all, I just wanted to get the discussion going about the operating system(s) we're planning to go with since that will have ramifications for other parts of the project.
I think a couple of the goals should be to have a consistent install across the various schools and to keep customization to a minimum to increase maintainability. It looks like there will be two types of installs: LTSP servers together with their associated clients, and standalone desktop machines. My first thought is to go with Edubuntu 8.04 for all the machines, using the "Classroom Server" for the LTSP servers and the "Edubuntu Desktop" for the others. Does anyone have any other suggestions or concerns about this approach?
